Rapé Medicine

Rapé, pronounced "ha-pay," is a traditional snuff used by Brazilian indigenous tribes. Its primary ingredient is finely ground tobacco leaf, Nicotiana Rustica, which is known for its high nicotine content. This nicotine provides a stimulating effect, making Rapé a powerful and invigorating tool. A self-applicator pipe called a "Kuripe" is commonly used to administer Rapé.

How is Rapé Made?

The process of making Rapé begins with chopping Nicotiana Rustica into small pieces. These pieces are then dried over a fire to ensure they are dehydrated. Once dried, the tobacco is pulverized into a fine powder. This powder is repeatedly ground and sieved until it reaches the desired consistency for sniffing.

Unlike cigarettes, Rapé contains no chemical additives, making it significantly less harmful and less addictive. The lack of additives means that, while Rapé contains nicotine, it does not carry the same risks associated with smoking chemically-laden tobacco products.

Benefits of the Rapé Medicine

The uses that are generally given to this substance are spiritual in nature, many people find clarity when they have this practice and it can even be used to intensify the connection during tantra and tao exercises, or as preparation for more intense shamanic ceremonies such as Kambo and ayahuasca, or other ceremonies with plants.

Depending on the blend, they can serve as a tool for increasing the body’s energy, sharpening the mind's focus, cleansing, releasing negative energy, and grounding.

Thus, the benefits of snuff tobacco depend on the composition of the rapé.

With lighter doses and blends, benefits may include a pleasant sensation in the nose, an opening of the nostrils in case of a cold, and a feeling of slight detachment.

Psychedelic-based mixtures with snuff can induce much more profound effects. Therefore, it is crucial to know what kind of rapé you are going to take: you don’t want to start hallucinating if that isn’t part of the plan!

Tsunu Indigenous Rapé

Rapé Tsunu is one of the oldest rapé mixtures and is known for its powerful effects. Looking for more clarity, grounding and focus? Then you should definitely try this smooth, aromatic rapé. Also suitable to stop your negative thoughts.

Tsunu is one of the oldest rapé blends and is known for its powerful effects. The Tsuni tree (Platycyamus regnelli) that grows in the Amazon is considered sacred by the population. When the bark is burned, several alkaloids are released and that's where the healing properties begin. Originally named by the Yawanawa tribe, Tsunu has a history in indigenous folk medicine as a cure for fever and an ingredient in the treatment of malaria.

Tsunu stimulates both masculine and feminine energies, making them work together, harmonizing giving and receiving, acting and experiencing. It helps to concentrate and firm the thoughts, ideal for meditation and manifestations.

It relieves stress and makes an energetic discharge influencing the Crown chakra, the energy center that connects us to Divine Intelligence, and the Solar Plexus chakra that gives us energy and creativity to act.

Traditional Rapé has been used for thousands of years by South American indigenous groups. Unlike other substances that cause hallucinogenic effects that alter the senses and awareness, is an entheogen, a term used to describe substances with symbolic and cultural aspects.

As an entheogen, Rapé produces feelings of lightness, energization, and spiritual cleansing when used.
